Seriously. Homeboy can WAIL! Guy Sebastian, can I steal your voice a la Ursula in The Little Mermaid.

Today little Timmy Bishop finally turns 21! Here’s to the only kid who can make me get physically violent with one sentence, who constantly gets what he wants just because he “asked nicely” despite having me actually work for a similar thing, who is probably one of the laziest and most self-centered people I know.
But he’s my baby brother, and for that I love him. Here’s our favorite song, Timothy!

Ever hear a song that makes you overly sentimental and nostalgic? Yeah…this is mine.

I sincerely don’t have the strength to say this to him…
Started Don Quixote today. I have to read it in Old Spanish while in Spain. Why not read it in English 1st so I actually know what’s going on? Brilliant.

I guess it’d be more accurate to say my fear is being considered ordinary or plain, but that goes with forgotten in my mind.

Mini Indy 500 Weekend
So this past Saturday was the half marathon I’ve been training for all semester. After nervously working all Friday at my new job (Oh yeah, for those of you who don’t know I’m working at Big Red Liquors all summer. It’s awesome) I drove up to Indy to get dinner with our group at Buca di Beppo’s. Amazing. The best part was having our unofficial 6th Bishop there, my BFF Jill Dawson. Her and I ordered the same platter too. MEANT TO BE, FOLKS! One of the best dinner conversations I’ve ever had with my entire family and Jill. Too much.
After getting back to the hotel at 11, Pat and I immediately went to sleep seeing as we had to wake up at 5. Getting to the race was uneventful. Once there, we were given a pack of these energy gummies from my mom’s co-worker. I began eating them asap and would’ve finished the whole thing if that co-worker hadn’t stopped me and told me I was supposed to eat them during the race. Whoops!
Race begins and I try to stick with Pat & Tim for the first 5K as I promised…but I just couldn’t. People were going too slow and I was not down with that. So I weave in and out of the crowds pretty much for the whole race. They Mini Committee hires bands to play along the whole race which sounds like it’s a great idea, but I don’t think they ever saw the bands. They were either middle school kids trying to play heavy metal or middle-aged burnouts playing awful covers of 70s and 80s rock. However, shoutout to the old people who were clogging to Chris Brown. Regardless, I guess their idea to motivate me worked cuz I was laughing internally at each band that it made me forget I was in a race.
We got to run through the Indy 500 Speedway track. AMAZING, but long. Luckily I followed closely with my strategy which is loosely based off my Idol strategy. So since there’s 13 miles, there also happens to be 13 contestants on the live episode of Idol. Now equating this strategy to running is easy: Start off at a good pace, but don’t overdo it or you’ll burn out and get eliminated. Slowly progress to get better and better until you peak at about week (mile) 8-10. Once you’re in the final 4, everyone’s guaranteed to get a record deal so just finish it out smooth sailing cuz you did what you wanted to accomplish. May sound stupid, and yeah I’ve been known to be kinda obsessed with that show, but this strategy got me 1st out of out group:1 hr 59 min 39 sec. Super proud not only of my time, but also of the fact that I completed my 1st (and last) half marathon.
So sore from this amazing weekend with great friends, my family, and just an overly positive atmosphere all weekend. Definitely one I’ll never forget.
AND I LOST 20 POUNDS THIS SEMESTER FROM TRAINING! WOOO!
Literally has been stuck in my head since before Little 5. THAT’S ALMOST A MONTH, FOLKS!
Alexandra Burke…why are you perfect?
